Her goal is to help people restructure their relationships - not dissolve them, whether it be in the home or in the workplace. She is an accredited court-annexed mediator and specializes in divorce mediation, workplace mediation and commercial & financial disputes. She served for 12 years on the Executive Committee of the South African Association of Mediators (SAAM). As a PSETA accredited trainer she has trained many attorneys, psychologists and social workers who are now active mediators.By profession Jacqui is a qualified accountant and she has worked in this field for many years. She also has a degree in Counselling Psychology. She has worked as a volunteer counselor and mediator at the Family Live Centre Johannesburg since 2003. This pro-bono work, whilst giving her a wealth of experience, has also allowed her to give back to the community.She has been a mediator in private practice since 2006 and is the owner of PAX Accredited Mediators. She has a well earned reputation for offering an effective, professional and personal service. Her accounting background has proven indispensable as divorces, maintenance matters and many other disputes often have a financial aspect. Her studies in psychology assist her in her day-to-day work with adults and children and give her the necessary insight in relationship dynamics and people’s emotional needs. In addition, Jacqui has access to a network of trusted professionals and specialists: fellow accredited mediators, psychologists, therapists and mediation-sensitive attorneys who she works with and refers to. Mediation is a fairly new concept in South Africa, but with the start in 2014 of the Court-Annexed Mediation project by the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development, it has now become the preferred method of dispute resolution in divorce, family and civil matters. Assisting angry people to negotiate win-win situations has been quite a challenge, but the results have been inspiring.
